1921 Duesenberg Straight 8 Racer

Inventory Number: 3057

SOLD

This eight-Cyllinder racer's early history can be traced back to Jim Steck of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Steck sold the car to Eldon Eby also of Kalamazoo. The eight engine and transmission are believed to have documented race car history and were acquired from Nelson Thorpe. Buck Boudeman is also listed as a previous owner.

Noted early Duesenberg engine restorer, Jim Hemmelsbach (Zakiras Garage), has expertly finnished the car to its current racing condition. The car expertly ran through 50 gallons of fuel at the 2012 Miller meet. Hemmelsbach is regarded as the finest pre-war American race car restorer in the country. His restorations have taken top honors at many venues, including Pebble Beach and Amelia.

The car has recently been invited to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg sponsored Thunder Run racing expo which was held September 6, 2015.
